Measuring Guide

 


Measuring for Curtains on a track

Measure the track for the width. Overlapping tracks must be measured overall including the overlap.

 

Measure from the TOP of the track to whatever the length you want the curtains to finish at.

 


Measuring for curtains on a pole

Measure the width of the pole between the finials.

 

For TAB TOP, SLOT TOP, TIE TOP and EYELET measure from the TOP of the pole. Any allowance will be made by the maker.

 

Otherwise for any other heading such as Pinch Pleat, Pencil Pleat, measure from the small ring screwed into the larger ring that hangs on the pole as shown on the diagram.

 

 

Measuring for Roman Blinds

 

Outside Recess

Measure the wooden baton or the desired width of the blind, making sure that it covers the recess.

 

Measure from the top of the wooden baton or where the top of the headrail will be to the desired finished drop of the blind, usually down to the sill if the blind protrudes from the recess.

 


Inside Recess

Measure the recess width in 3 different positions. Take the smallest measurement.

 

Measure from the top to the bottom of the recess in 3 different positions. Take the smallest measurement.

 

Many windows are not as square as you’d think!
